The Grove Hotel – Grade 2 Listed

Komfort Services have been carrying out the extensive ongoing refurbishment work during this new phase of The Grove Hotel.

The current phase of work includes the iconic Glass House restaurant (which won the International Hotel & Property Awards 2020. Restaurant within a Hotel – Europe category.) The main hotel Reception, Mansion Lounges and Library. The standard bedrooms are also being refurbished in a rolling programme.

Take a look at the article about our work on The Grove Hotel in the Premier Hospitality Magazine.

THE GROVE LOBBY REFURBISHMENT

The re-designed re-decorated lobby is fresh and welcoming, but still retains the same feel as it did originally, giving a real sense of arrival in a refreshed area that is still true to its roots.

Situated in the Grade 2 listed mansion house at The Grove Hotel, the historic Mansion Lounges provide a luxurious environment for guests to sit and relax, meet friends or business associates.

THE LOUNGES

The colour schemes of the Lounges are derived from the natural aspect of each room. The blue room lounge is naturally a dark space. New shades of blue have been used, the original chandelier has been retained and the design theme of hand-made items are continued throughout.

The next lounge features walls lined with a new hand block-printed linen, this is complimented by a new handmade hanging illuminated beam sculpture which crosses the centre lounge. As you progress through the lounges they gradually become lighter with the last lounge the brightest blue as the sunlight reaches that room most of the day.

THE LIBRARY

Situated in the Grade 2 listed mansion house at The Grove Hotel, the Mansion Lounges provide a luxury environment for guests to sit and relax, meet friends and/or business associates.

In the autumn of 2019, Komfort Services were engaged by Ralph Trustees, owners of The Grove, to refurbish the main hotel reception, Mansion Lounges, Library and associated ancillary areas.

The Library is the latest to be refurbished it is the room with the most original features. It features new rich green hand-painted wall coverings that really connect with the garden, complementing the space’s unique combination of furniture and art.

THE BEDROOMS

The works comprise the strip out of all fixtures, fittings and lighting from each room and the complete refurbishment to include painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery works, new carpets, lighting and controls.

There are also a number of interconnecting doors to create, through an existing precast concrete wall.

Works started on the first two phases comprising 46 no. rooms in early January 2020 and although the learning curve was steep, each phase was handed back to the Hotel within the prescribed contract period.
