The Grove Hotel – Grade 2 Listed

In the autumn of 2018, Komfort Services were appointed to undertake an extensive refurbishment and renovation of the iconic Glasshouse Restaurant.

GLASSHOUSE RESTAURANT REFURBISHMENT
The works comprised the complete strip out of the existing kitchen, restaurant and bar areas to facilitate a conservatory style extension to the overall footprint and the complete fitting out of the restaurant, bar and ancillary areas.
Works to increase the footprint of the building commenced in October 2018, whilst the restaurant was still operational, and the internal strip out commenced in January 2019. The project presented a number of technical challenges. Notwithstanding these, the works achieved practical completion to much acclaim, in early May 2019.
BEDROOMS
The works comprise the strip out of all fixtures, fittings and lighting from each room and the complete refurbishment to include painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery works, new carpets, lighting and controls. There are also a number of interconnecting doors to create, through an existing precast concrete wall. The works are to be completed in 7no independent 4-week programme ‘phases’ within an overall period of circa 18 months. Each ‘phase’ comprises up to 30 bedrooms on two floors together with the associated corridor and stairs. There are 189 no. rooms in all.
Works started on the first two phases comprising 46 no. rooms in early January 2020 and although the learning curve was steep, each phase was handed back to the Hotel within the prescribed contract period.
LOUNGES
Situated in the Grade 2 listed mansion house at The Grove Hotel, the Mansion Lounges provide a luxury environment for guests to sit and relax, meet friends and/or business associates.
In the autumn of 2019, Komfort Services were engaged by Ralph Trustees, owners of The Grove, to refurbish the main hotel reception, Mansion Lounges, Library and associated ancillary areas.
The works comprised the removal and replacement of all lighting and the complete redecoration within the reception area, followed by the strip out of all fixtures, fittings and lighting to facilitate the complete refurbishment of the lounges. Refurbishment within these areas comprised the redecoration of all surfaces, new fabric hangings, new and repaired flooring, the provision of new electrical wire ways, lighting and controls. We also enhanced the mechanical services serving the existing kitchen by installing a new ventilation system, chilled water system, LTHW heating, mains cold water and domestic hot water systems, together with adaptations to the above ground drainage, BMS controls and new fan coils.
These works were successfully carried out over a 4-week period spanning January and February 2020.
