North Middlesex University Hospital

We were engaged in multiple projects at this Hospital, collaborating closely with the Trust's staff and management.

Our successful execution of the initial project led to the re-awarding of several additional projects.

A&E refurbishment and providing mobile accommodation named The Horizon for their Mental Health Unit.

BRIEF SCOPE

This project was executed in six phases, requiring careful management and oversight in a live environment. The work involved refurbishing and outfitting the main accident and emergency unit, which included the reception area, kitchen, restrooms, breastfeeding room, and security room.

We implemented fire safety enhancements, installed a tannoy and nursing call system, and established security access control. Additionally, we upgraded the building management system (BMS), mechanical and electrical systems, and installed new air handling units (AHUs) and chillers. Other tasks included the installation of examination and emergency lighting, bedhead trunking, medical gas systems, new partitions and suspended ceilings, above-ground drainage, white cladding, IPS and sanitary ware, as well as furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) and decorative elements.

Works included Offices, Entrance, Reception & Lobby areas, Clinical showrooms, Nurses' station, Play area, Sterile stores, Seminar, Treatment & Exam rooms, Kitchen & rest room, CAMS & Triage.

BRIEF SCOPE

The project involved the installation of medical gas systems, emergency lighting, adjustments to the fire alarm system, access control systems, nurse call systems, and CCTV.

Mechanical tasks encompassed the installation of fire and smoke dampers, as well as heating and chilled water systems, VRF systems, and refrigerants.

The building fabric work included the removal and replacement of suspended ceilings in multiple rooms, joinery, flooring, the installation of hygienic wall cladding systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), along with the installation of IPS and sanitary ware.

Same day Emergency Care - SDEC - Fit out

BRIEF SCOPE

Strip out and enabling works in the examination rooms, waiting area, toilets, offices and patient areas. Works were inclusive of building fabric, mechanical and electrical services including BMS, anti-ligature tracks, joinery and decoration.

Emergency Day-care Admin Area.

BRIEF SCOPE

This was a 6-week project that consisted of alterations to the Admin area including demolition of partitions and the removal of all existing sanitary ware, sink basins within the dirty and clean utility rooms and plaster room. Strip out of all mechanical and electrical services and the supply of new. The provision of above ground drainage and decorations including feature walls and installation of clinical worktops.

Xray Imaging Suites.

BRIEF SCOPE

This project was carried out in a hospital that remained operational throughout the process. We prioritised maintaining continuous access for the hospital and ensured that at the end of each workday, the surrounding areas were completely accessible, clean, and functional.

The scope of work involved the complete strip-out and removal of existing structures, along with the repurposing of the X-ray facilities. This included demolition, the installation of new partitions, Medicare suspended ceilings, LED lighting, smoke detection systems, fire stopping measures, new joinery and flooring, decoration, and the installation of new furniture, as well as mechanical and electrical services.
