BRIEF SCOPE
Southcote Children’s Centre experienced a significant water leak originating from a water cylinder, which infiltrated the floating chipboard floor and became evident in both the main entrance area and the office. As a result, the floating chipboard floor sagged and ultimately collapsed.
Upon investigation, it was determined that water had become trapped beneath the entirety of the building, necessitating the complete uplift of the flooring to facilitate the removal of water and to allow for thorough drying of the structure.
Our scope of work encompassed the replacement of the building's flooring and the redecoration of all affected areas. To execute this, it was necessary to dismantle and temporarily set aside the existing toilet cubicles and water closets, with plans for their subsequent reinstallation. We isolated all services associated with the existing kitchen hob, washing machines, dishwashers, and refrigerators, removing them temporarily and ensuring their reinstallation and commissioning upon completion of the project.
Furthermore, we designed, supplied, and installed new worktops and cabinets, which included sinks, water taps, and shelves. We also removed all existing flooring along with any obsolete floor heating systems, eliminated any standing water, and ensured the drying of the floor slab. Subsequently, we designed and installed a timber floor with suitable finishes.
